About Us

The Glenn R. Myers Law Firm, P.C. was founded in September 2012, by a recent law school graduate with the goal of assisting individuals and small businesses. In the almost five years since then, Glenn R. Myers has utilized his expertise and training to help clients achieve optimal results. With a passion for problem solving and a belief in ardent, passionate advocacy The Glenn R. Myers Law Firm has helped numerous clients start their businesses, fight for their rights, proceed through divorce, address discrimination and plan for the future.

While maintaining an office in Winfield, The Glenn R. Myers Law Firm P.C. practices across Northern Illinois, including both the State and Federal court systems. Recognizing the logistical difficulties of many clients, Glenn discarded lawyer hours and integrated "house calls" into his services early on, making the retention of legal services convenient to your schedule.  While, not able to assist in all legal matters (taxes and immigration for example), he is always happy to learn about your situation and to help you find an attorney to assist you.

Our lead counsel, Glenn R. Myers graduated from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in June 2011 with a Juris Doctorate and a Certificate in Trial Advocacy. While in law school, he coordinated the Hope Legal Clinic for the Hesed House homeless shelter in Aurora, IL, completed a Judicial Internship at the Kane County Courthouse, interned with the DuPage County public defender's office, and was a teacher's assistant in Alternative Dispute Resolution. In Glenn's spare time, he enjoys  spending time with his dogs, hiking through nature, and tinkering with cars.

When I tell people I’m a lawyer, the first question they usually ask is “What’s your specialty?” The best answer is that I practice “Real People” law. My practice addresses the problems that people have, rather than the law I like to practice. In the past helping my clients take has taken me from Landlord Tenant, Foreclosure, Probate, Wills, Contract disputes, Child custody and Support, Employment discrimination and many others.

My goal is to bridge the chasm between what the average person understands the law can do and what the law can actually do to help. Someone shouldn’t need to know to ask for an attorney with expertise in the Fair Debt Collection Act to get harassing calls from creditors to stop. Sometimes all you know is you have a problem, and you need someone else to tell you where there might be a solution, or in some cases where you should stop looking.

I try to keep my initial consultations ruthlessly honest, and I like for my clients to leave knowing 5 things:

  1. How to better describe their problem. For example: I don’t see my kid enough to My former spouse is not complying with the terms of our joint custody agreement.

  2. Whether the law can help and what the other options are. Mediation, talking, etc

  3. What a legal action would cost. Financially, time, stress, relationship wise

  4. Who to call. I don’t do everything legally, and quite frankly I don’t want to, so when I think a potential client will be better served with other counsel, I make that recommendation.

  5. A basic plan for how to proceed.

Previous colleagues have joked that I am the holistic lawyer, and maybe that description isn’t too far off. I want my clients to be successful and happy long term and I try to make my law firm a part of that process.
